Theme Problems with Slider and Navigation

Hello,

Iam using a Multistore Shop with 2 Shops.
Since day one i got the Problem that the Slider and the Banner Section is loading slowly it takes up to 20 seconds to load completely. Im having 5 Slides with 100kb per jpg

Also im using the Layout 1 and The middl Banner is loading slowly too.

Is there a way to optimize this ? It is running on a fast root server and is still non performant even whenn the Cache is on.

As a next Problem my Categorie Navigation left from the Search field is not showing in one Shop. It doesent matter what selection i take in the SNS Navigation menu it looks like its Not finding the Root/Home Categorie.
