mega menu not working in admin

How does the mega menu work? There is no documentation except to use the demo data, which I cannot do this late in the project. I create a group, and go to add a menu item, but the Parent Items dropdown and the Order Item dropdown is empty. How can I select this required field with NO options in the select box?!

This is after I had add fixes for broken code in many of the files. If I bring in the original files, I can’t even load up the menu items page.

I would like some answers on this please. The product DOES NOT work out of the box.
