Theme questiosn not covered in documentation

Hi,
I have a few questions I cannot find any answers to in the documentation.ù

1. How do I display my products on the home page like you have in the demo? I have added products and catgories but they are not showing on home page? I cannot find a setting to do this, see here http://www.texmexcandleshop.com.

2. I have created categories and have added an introduction description for each but when I look into the category page the description is not displayed, I need to display this, how?

3. How can I change the white background in the header and body area, I tried editing the css file but I cannot open it in my editor.

4. The add to cart button is not showing on any of my products, it was but now has disappeared. Can you please help me with this?
