How to add countdown timer or enable the hot deals section in the homepage?

HI I am trying to add the countdown timer using the this support reply.but to no avail. Please let me know step by step on how enable this section. For now the there is only new product section in the homepage.

Please go to BO >> CATALOG >> Products >> Your Product >> Tab: Price >> Specific prices to config >> Add a new specific price. At here you can add discount and time for your product
